AL-HASAKEH, Syria, 30 January 2026– Critical supplies in Al-Hol camp are running dangerously lowover aweek since violence escalated in northeasternSyria, with ongoing clashes blocking the safe delivery of humanitarian aid, Save the Children said.

Last week’s escalation forced aid agencies to temporarily suspendregularoperations in Al-Hol camp, which is home tojust over 24,000 people—mostly women and children—displaced following the collapse of ISIS in 2019.The main road leading to the campremainsunsafe, which is preventing humanitarian workers from delivering food and water or running basicservices for children and families.

Rasha Muhrez, Save the Children Syria Country Director, said:

“The situation in Al-Hol camp is rapidly deteriorating as food, water, and medicines run dangerously low. If humanitarian organisations are unable to resume work, children will face still more risks in the camp which was already extremely dangerous for them before this latest escalation.

“All parties to the conflict must ensure a safe humanitarian corridor to Al-Hol camp so basic services can resume and children can be protected. Lives depend on it.”

Save the Children is calling on all parties with influence to uphold humanitarian and human rights obligations, protect civilians, including children, and prevent further violence. The child right's organisation is also urgently calling for a safe humanitarian corridor to Al Hol camp to allow for resumption of basic services to children and their families living in the camp.

Save the Children has been working in Syria since 2012, reaching over five million people, including more than three million children across the country with emergency and life-saving interventions including child protection services, education, food security and livelihoods, watersanitationand hygiene as well as health and nutrition.
